Persevere with Positivity

To continue on the path God has chosen for you is not always an easy task. We are human and as humans we are destined to sometimes fail. There will be challenges on our journey that we all must face, and it is how we endure the challenge that proves how persistent we are to stay the course God has planned for us. There will be times when we must ask God to re-align us with the road we are meant to travel and the person we are purposefully created to be.
Recently I have been faced with a few personal challenges. I have been working on rebuilding who I am for the last four years and up until this last year I believed I was doing a pretty good job. I was proud to be building new relationships with new friends, new family, and a new me. It seems lately I have been re-awoken to the reality that people have many different sides to them and what you see in them at the start may very well change as you get to know them. The changes are not always positive ones and the influence they have on you is not always understood right away.
I promised myself four years ago that I was going to start my life over for the better. I told myself I would never let anyone affect me negatively again. I encouraged myself to become a better person from the inside out and I was doing just that. I had started working out and feeling like a brand new me, someone I was very proud of.
Life has a way of tearing you down and changing your positive attitude into a negative one very quickly. As humans we don’t like to be challenged, and we are quick to react with a negative response. It is easy to hold resentment towards others and thrive on the bad.
There are those who are quick to judge others and sling hostility toward them without the willingness to see past their frustrations and understand what someone else has been through in their life. We don’t all live in the same bubble. Everyone has a background that carves out their path in life and provides for them differently. Some things in this world are not for you to make sense of, and some things are not meant to be compared.
It is unfortunate that our world has become so skeptical, critical, and judgmental. We would all live a much better life if we focused on our lives and not others. If we shared positivity instead of negativity. I realize now that I have been letting these nay sayers and mud slingers in my life have an effect on me and I have reached out to ask God to redirect me and help me to persevere with positivity once again.
I intend to stand strong, steer diligently towards a better direction and remove those from my life that are incapable of appreciating me, incapable of disrespecting my family, seeing who I am and sharing the same positive light. I am done being judged by others, I am done being critiqued, I am done allowing others to affect my happiness in life.
If all you bring to my door is negativity and judgment, then you will no longer be welcomed in. Life is too short, and I intend to live mine with happiness and joy until the good Lord calls me home. May the Lord guide you to find yours.
